Update Available to version 2.0.116
We've received a lot of requests from past users to re-introduce the Cabinets Setup Wizard into Filing Cabinets II. The wizard will start automatically once you complete your installation of Filing Cabinets and creates a number of default windows shortcut cabinets to get you on your way.
For existing users, simply click on the Update Filing Cabinets option in your drop down menu.

Update Available to version 2.0.108
We've identified another (more obscure) bug when dragging specific types of URL shortcuts from the desktop into your Filing cabinets. This seems only to be a problem when the URL shortcut has a non-standard icon. We have also discovered that certain operating systems will cause an error when apply is clicked in the Cabinet setup screen.
We have made an update available for this which you can download by running the "Update Filing Cabinets" option under your windows start menu. Thank you to everbody who has provided us with the feedback to help us make Filing Cabinets better for you :)

Beta Testing
With most features now completed, we've officially moved into a closed beta testing phase now to iron out any last bugs within the software.
We're anticipating a relatively short testing period (approx 2 months) after which we will make Filing Cabinets II available for download to the general public.

Development Update - Plug ins!
We weren't originally going to put this in, at least not for this release, but we discovered we had a little more time on our hands than originally anticipated. We've already got most parts of a ZIP Cabinet working, but intend to build a complete SDK (Filing Cabinets SDK) for other developers to build plug ins of their own.
Also in the pipeline; a World Clock, To-Do list, Stock Ticker, Weather and News Cabinets ... perhaps even a built in MP3 player (although that will probably take a little work). Plug ins will only be available to registered users ;)

Development Update - Win XP 32 bit icons
Now this was fun to do. To explain, Windows XP's icons use an alpha channel to give icons a sense of depth allowing for shadows, gloss effects etc. Makes for some very professional looking icons, however quite tricky to implement into Cabinets.
You can see an example of a 32 bit icons in the Screen shots page. Compared to conventional icons which are seemingly flat, you can see 32 bit icons offer a much nicer, much tidier appearance.
Took a bit of work to get right, but well worth the end result.

Development Update - Multi Monitors?!
Took a little longer than expected, however Filing Cabinets now has multi-monitor support.
Drag Cabinets anywhere between monitors - even leave them on the adjoining section (between the two monitors) and set up a restistance so your mouse doesn't just pass through them.

Development Update - Skinning the Cab
Well, we've finished the majority of the skinning work (required virtually a full re-write of the Cabinets v1.0). We'll have some really decent skins for you too by the time of the final release.
